Our Little Caesars Pizza Kit sale was a BIG success!!! Our students sold over 600 pizza kits. A huge thank you goes out to everyone who sold pizza kits. Now comes the next part. Our delivery date is Tuesday, November 13. All pizza kits will be delivered to the HS Cafetorium and will need to be picked up between 3:30 and 5:30 and then delivered to your customers as soon as possible. All orders must be picked up and delivered at this time as we do not have cold storage for unclaimed orders. Please make arrangements to pick up and deliver your orders at this time. On Wednesday, September 26, the GHS Marching Band will travel to Clare High School to participate in the 1st annual Pioneer Marching Showcase. The Pioneer Marching Showcase is a non-competitive performance that gives us a chance to perform our show for other marching bands and allows our performance to be critiqued by a panel of judges. It also gives us a chance to see other marching bands perform. We hope to have a large group of parents and friends from GHS come over to Clare to support us. On Friday, September 21, the 7th and 8th grade Bands will be joining the HS Marching Band at the Gladwin – Houghton Lake Football Game. This is our first performance as
listed in the band calendar that was sent home on the first day of school. The details
are as follows:
*All Students need to on the HS prac/ce field, ready to play at 5:00.
*All students should wear blue and white.
*We will march to the field with the HS Band, Cheer on the team, perform at
Halime, and march back to the HS aer the game.
*Students are expected to stay for the en/re game and will be dismissed from the
High School music room aer the game (approximately 9:30).

The Flying G Marching Band will be heading to The Springs on August 18 for Marching Band Camp.Our show this year is Movie Heroes and will include music from The Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, The Incredibles and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.. The 2018-2019 Beginning Band will be starting soon! We are very excited to see so many students signed up this year! Mr. Falls is looking forward to getting these new members of the Gladwin Band family started on their musical journey. We are sure that you have many questions. Below is a copy of the brochure that went home with students during the last week of school. It answers many questions that first time Band families have. If you have further questions please don’t hesitate to contact Mr. Falls.
Final Cedar Point bus list and group list are posted below. Due to the number of empty seats Mr. Falls will need to collect an additional $4 per person to fully cover the cost of the trip. Please give your $4 to Mr. Falls when you arrive. Buses will be leaving from GHS at 5:00am. WE WILL NOT WAIT FOR YOU! Plan to be on your bus no later than 4:45.
On Saturday, March 17, members of the GHS Symphonic Band will travel to Cadillac HS to perform in the MSBOA State Solo & Ensemble Festival. Find the schedule for the day in the link below.
On Friday, March 9 the JH and HS Bands will travel to Oscoda HS to perform for the MSBOA District 9 Band Festival Evaluations. The JH Band performs at 3:45 and the HS Band will perform at 7:00. On Saturday, February 3, several members of the Gladwin High School Band traveled to Tawas Area High School to participate in the MSBOA District 9 Solo & Ensemble Festival. The Festival was attended by students from all over north east Michigan. The students prepared solos and small ensembles and their performances were evaluated by trained MSBOA adjudicators. The Gladwin contingent did very well. 17 events performed with 12 events earning First Division ratings and 4 events earning Second Division ratings.
The following Gladwin students earned First Division ratings: Paige Heath for her Clarinet solo, Brittany Sharpsteen, Kaitlyn levine, DJ Nyman, Donny Underhill, Emily Withrow for their Trumpet Ensemble, Carly Haines for her Saxophone solo, Abby McKillips, DJ Nyman, Emily Withrow, Mario Sangret Savalle, Jeb Bukosky, Alexander Beecher for their Brass ensemble, VaDawn Wagnitz, Abby Withrow for their Flute duet, Megan Trombley for both her Clarinet and Bass Clarinet solos, Abby Withrow for her Flute Solo, Kassidee Roggow, Grant Otto, Noah Miller for their Percussion trio, Victor Edick, Carly Haines, Grant Shafer, Danielle Klamer for their Saxophone quartet, Kaitlyn Levine for her Trumpet solo, Megan Trombley, Cassie Foster, Paige Heath for their Clarinet trio.
Earning second division ratings were: Jeb Bukosky for his Trombone solo, Jeb Bukosky, Danielle Roggow for their Tuba duet, Mario Sangret-Savalle, VaDawn Wagnitz for their French Horn/Flute duet, Victoria Doan, Olivia Klein for their Flute duet, Victoria Doan for her Flute solo. All events that earned a First Division rating have qualified for the State Festival which will take place in March.
